These clients wanted additional bedroom space for their kids as well as a private, comfortable area for out of town guests to stay. They also wanted a very open floor plan. They purchased this home and hired Redsmith Construction to start prior to moving in. Redsmith completely gutted the first floor and removed walls. There were two bearing walls running through the middle of the house. Large steel beams were engineered to carry the loads. This allowed for an open concept kitchen and family room, relocated powder room and relocated laundry to the 2nd floor primary suite. Redsmith added a very nice bathroom in the basement adjacent to a bedroom and family room to make a guest suite. The original primary bath was also updated, which included heated floors. Plumbing was re-routed to the second floor. A new HVAC system was also added to the second floor, which added efficiency and comfort.
